RISE FROM EARTH

We sit at the river bank
watch the water that was once gathered for sacred altar
undulate hypnotically to Her
in a praising hymn
She liquefies us from the inside
So this is how it feels to dissolve in utter surrender,
we thought,
as we rise from Her
as we rise from Earth
