Reciprocity is defined as responding to a positive action with another positive action, an interchange of loving-kindness. The indigenous people of the Andes revered this concept and named it, Ayni. Yesterday, an elder saw me carry crystal singing bowls into my yoga class. He followed me into the studio and asked if ok for him to sit and listen. I was about to activate the studio with the singing bowls but I welcomed his company - I knew the Divine arranged for him to join me. So I played the bowls. And he got on his knees and prayed. He bowed his head, and prayed. He clasped his hands tightly, and he prayed. And he prayed. In such sincerity, he prayed. At one point I saw him wipe his eyes. Were they tears? Or perhaps just something in his eyes. Didn't matter. His actions started to melt away as the essence of his Being emerged... a pillar of light, his mere presence blessed every corner of the studio. In that brief moment of borrowed-time, two strangers treated each other as family. Gifting to each other without expecting anything in return - pure and unadulterated. What is your Reciprocity, today?
Only love, Sitara
